Build Your Practice on the Island: Occupational Therapist (Contractor)
Serving Communities Across Southern Vancouver Island (Victoria, Western Communities, and Cowichan)
Are you looking for a role that values your clinical expertise while offering the freedom of the West Coast lifestyle? SuccessAbility Canada Inc. is expanding.
We are a therapist-led organization dedicated to community-based rehabilitation. We're currently looking for an independent, driven Occupational Therapist to join us in supporting clients across Vancouver Island. This specific role is geared toward pediatric care, focusing on early intervention (0–6 years) and school-aged development (6–18 years). There is potential additional work with the broader community completing ICBC recovery caseloads and other community-based OT work across the lifespan (pediatric and adult). Whether you're a seasoned clinician or a motivated new grad, we provide the infrastructure so you can focus on the therapy.
Why work with SuccessAbility?
We've designed our contractor package to be highly competitive, ensuring you feel valued for every hour you put in.
Premium Compensation: $75 - $110 per hour, depending on experience.
Maximum Autonomy: Manage your own schedule. Whether you want a full caseload or a few key clients, there are no minimum billable hour requirements.
Paid Administrative Time: We don't believe in "unpaid paperwork." You are compensated for report writing, training, ongoing mentorship and support.
Your Impact:
As a SuccessAbility OT, you'll meet clients where they are at home, in the community, or our clinic. Your day-to-day will involve:
Comprehensive Evaluations: Assessing functional and clinical needs, specifically targeting early childhood milestones (0–6 years), youth life skills and school integration (6–18 years), individuals navigating recovery through ICBC claims, and other community-based assessments with clients across the lifespan.
Goal-Oriented Rehab: Designing and evolving evidence-based programs that help clients get back to what matters most.
Environmental Optimization: Recommending equipment and home, school, or work modifications to improve safety and independence.
Advocacy & Navigation: Acting as the bridge between clients, such as schools, families, hospitals, and employers to facilitate healthy, sustainable transitions.
Who You Are:
You're a people person with a sharp clinical mind. You'll thrive here if you're self-motivated but enjoy knowing a supportive team has your back.
The Essentials:
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy and active registration with the COTBC.
Experience with pediatrics, with a thorough understanding of therapeutic approaches for both the 0–6 and 6–18 year age brackets.
Creativity: it's the ultimate tool to turn everyday barriers into personalized success for clients
Strong report-writing skills and an eye for detail.
Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills.
A valid BC driver's license and a reliable vehicle or willingness to commute (travel is a core part of the role).
The "Extras" (Assets):
1-3 years of experience in pediatric occupational therapy, motor vehicle rehabilitation, return to work planning and care, or community based occupational therapy.
Familiarity with case management software such as Jane App
Experience navigating ICBC to ensure clients receive comprehensive support through their recovery journeys.
Our Story:
SuccessAbility Canada Inc. was founded on the belief that rehabilitation should be as unique as the person receiving it and success begins with ability. We aren't a high-volume "mill"; we are a boutique practice that prioritizes quality over quantity. We provide our contractors with full IT support, administrative backing, and advertising, removing the "business" headaches so you can stay focused on clinical excellence.
